Who We Are

Alex Shogolev
Founder & Head Coach
Alex Shogolev has been involved in the sport of swimming for over 18 years, both as a competitive athlete and as a coach. His journey in the sport has taken him across Canada and internationally, where he has trained with several renowned programs, including the University of Calgary Dinos and the University of Manitoba Bisons. As an athlete, Alex competed at major national meets such as the Canada West Championships, the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) Championships, and the 2016 Rio Olympic Trials.
Since beginning his coaching career in 2016, Alex has built a reputation for developing swimmers through structured, efficient, and progressive training methods. His coaching philosophy emphasizes strong technical foundations, consistency, and mindset development — key elements that have helped his athletes achieve success at both the provincial and national levels. Many of the swimmers he has coached have gone on to become provincial and national champions.
In 2025, Alex served as a coach at the Canada Games, working with some of the country’s top emerging talent. He was later selected as the Head Coach for Team Canada at the upcoming 2026 Maccabiah Games, a recognition of his leadership, expertise, and commitment to athlete development.
Alex is passionate about helping swimmers of all levels reach their full potential — whether they’re taking their first strokes or pursuing excellence at the national stage.

Geneson Mendoza
Assistant Head Coach
Geneson Mendoza, our Assistant Coach, is a seasoned swimming enthusiast whose journey through the sport has been marked by excellence and dedication. Beginning his swimming career at the age of six in the Philippines, he competed at club, school, and national levels before making a mark in NCAA and international competitions during his college years. In 2011, Geneson transitioned into coaching, starting at San Beda College and Lake City Swimming Club, and was chosen as a coach for the Philippine swim delegation at the ASEAN School Games in 2014. Relocating to Winnipeg in 2018, he has continued to share his expertise by coaching masters and junior-level swimmers, emphasizing the importance of proper techniques and stroke corrections as he pursues his unwavering passion for the sport.

Vitalii Musiienko
Assistant Coach
Vitalii Musiienko has been involved in swimming since 2004 — first as a competitive athlete and later as a coach. He began his swimming journey in Ukraine, where he trained daily and competed at multiple levels. During his university years, he also took up triathlon, further broadening his athletic experience and deepening his understanding of endurance sports.
Vitalii holds an International Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Sport, supported by a strong academic background in health sciences. This expertise provides him with a solid foundation for developing athletes through proper technique, strength training, and movement efficiency.
Since relocating to Canada, Vitalii has coached both Masters and Age Group swimmers. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge, helping swimmers refine their skills, build confidence, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the sport.

Chloe Chau
Assistant Coach
Chloe Chau is a seasoned competitive swim coach with over 8 years of experience in the sport. She has competed at provincial championships, demonstrating her dedication and skill. Chloe is passionate about mentoring young swimmers, helping them develop and excel in their swimming journeys. She holds National Lifeguard and Swim for Life instructor certifications. Currently an honour roll high school student, Chloe balances her academic achievements with her commitment to coaching and inspiring the next generation of swimmers.

Anna-Mariya Parashchak
Assistant Coach
Anna-Mariya Parashchak is a certified lifeguard, swim instructor, and coach with strong experience in teaching and motivating young swimmers to improve their skills and confidence in the water. She draws on her leadership and communication skills gained through her time as a Staff Cadet in the Canadian Cadet Program, as well as her extensive volunteer experience working with children.
Anna-Mariya is passionate about youth development and strives to create a safe, engaging, and encouraging learning environment for every swimmer. Her goal is to help young athletes develop a lifelong love for swimming, build confidence, and foster a strong sense of teamwork.
